Mission & Goals
At the Deborah Brooks Foundation, home of the Brooks for Books Initiative, we believe every student deserves a fair chance to succeed in college—without being burdened by the high cost of textbooks or financial hardship.
As a nonprofit organization, our mission is to empower current and future college students by providing scholarships that help cover the cost of textbooks and other essential college-related expenses. Through our efforts, we aim to remove financial barriers and support academic success, one student at a time.

Support a student’s future in style! When you purchase a hoodie or t-shirt from The Deborah Brooks Foundation for Education’s BROOKS FOR BOOKS Initiative, you’re helping current and future college students afford the rising cost of textbooks.
All proceeds go directly toward awarding scholarships—our goal is to support approximately 10 deserving students for the Fall 2025 semester, with more to follow. This marks our second round of awards since launching the fund, and we’re just getting started!
